I was thrilled when I heard from one of my dearest friends that she was going to be getting married, and even more so when she asked me to photograph their wedding. As we talked over the details for their day, we realized we would have a small window of time for their formal portraits, and the only day we could do them would be early before the sun had come over the mountains. Deb and Brendan were amazing though, and got up early to meet me at the Mt. Timp temple, where we had an hour session and I rushed home to edit some images and get prints ready for the reception that evening.
They were married in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by friends and family, and greeted by even more friends and family after the ceremony, many of whom had traveled from all over the United States to wish them well. I loved their excitement to be husband and wife finally, and at the dinner following the ceremony at Thanksgiving Point, there were heartfelt speeches, toasts, a very adorable song-and-dance routine from the Mr. and Mrs., and of course the cutest musical number from all the nieces and nephews.
The reception was open-house style, and they had the best idea to save their formal wedding celebrations (cake cutting, first dance, etc.) until their reception in New Jersey later that month, so they were able to spend the evening mingling with friends and family and enjoy the summer sunset at their gorgeous venue. When it was time to leave, everyone grabbed some bubbles and cheered them right into the car as they drove off for some well deserved time in Hawaii. Deb and Brendan, thank you for allowing me to photograph your wedding day, and for your kindness! May this new phase of life bring so much joy to you both, I couldn’t be happier for you two!
